Dubai Ports Authority
 Dubai Ports Authority - Dubai, U.A.E. Web site. Dubai's strategic location 
  at the crossroads between east and west has made it a leading hub between 
  Europe and the Far East. The city is the acknowledged gateway to the 
  lucrative market of the Gulf, Arab world and surrounding region. 
  Dubai Ports Authority has two port terminals.
  Jebel Ali Terminal situated 35km sw of the city of Dubai. 
  The position of the port control tower is 24°59'04"N and 55°02'09"E. Dual
  -purpose berths for LPG and other tankers berth 1,5,7 are situated in the
  outer basin and at berth 2 in the 14m basin. Star energy oil terminal is 
  situated on quay 3 with berths 8 and 9 for tankers (max draft, 13.25m) 
  importing/exporting petroleum  products. A chemical tanker berth is 
  located on quay 7, berth 51, with water depth being 11.5m.
  Port Rashid Terminal is situated in the city of Dubai. Position of 
  the port control tower is 25°15'33"N and 55°16'09"E. Port Rashid Oil Jetty
  (PROJ) is situated on the main breakwater, 260m north of the control tower.
  PROJ accepts tankers of LOA 230m. longer tankers may berth at the harbor 
  master's discretion. Minimum depth alongside is 11.5m.
  The DPA operates a sophisticated container and non-container cargo system 
  via the termnals.  
  The DPA and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) are important commercial 
  aspects of the city's business infrastructure. The buoyant local economy

Fujairah Port
 Fujairah Port - U.A.E. Web site. The port is situated on the western coast
  of the U.A.E. outside the Arabian Gulf.
  Construction started in 1978 and finished in 1980. Its total area is
  1,300,000 sq. meters. It has three major docks, each 600 m. long and 
  12.5 m. deep. A fourth dock is 290 m. long and 7 m. deep. There is a 
  fifth for loading ships with a belt, to bring stones from the mountains 
  of Fujairah, where Fujairah Rock and Aggregate Co. is working. 
  The whole area was distributed in an exemplary way to allow for a store 
  for containers that takes 12,500, 20 ft. containers. 
  There is a refrigerated one with voltages of 220 and 440 volts, in 
  addition to an area of 170,000 sq.m.

Hakata Port
 Hakata Port - Fukuoka, Japan Web site. The Port of Hakata, which is 
  administrated by the City of Fukuoka, is located in the northern part of 
  Kyushu Island on the western side of Japan. The port is the oldest natural
  port in Japan and has played an important role as a gateway for economic 
  and cultural exchange from China since ancient times. 
  Hakata is the only port, west of Kobe, directly called on by the major 
  international liner container services on Round-the-World, North American 
  and European routes. As such, the Port of Hakata has been steadily 
  developing as a life-supporting port which offers stable supplies for 
  Fukuoka City and the surrounding areas and as an international trading 
  port linking Kyushu with the world.

Hamriyah Free Zone (Sharjah)
 Hamriyah Free Zone (Sharjah) - U.A.E. Web site. The Hamriyah Free Zone 
  based in the Emirate of Sharjah, is located on the West coast of the
  Arabian Gulf and provides strategic access by sea, land and air to a fast

Hong Kong Port

  strategically located, both in relation to China and the neighbouring 
  Asian countries. It lies at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta and is at 
  the centre of the Asia-Pacific Rim, a region where economy is growing at 
  a phenomenal pace.
  Being the junction of two different forms of maritime transport -- the 
  large ocean-going vessels from the Pacific Ocean and the smaller, coastal 
  and river trade craft from the Pearl River -- and the only modern, fully 
  developed deep water harbour between Singapore and Shanghai, Hong Kong is 
  the focal point of all maritime trading activities in Southern China. 
  In 1999, Hong Kong handled a total of 169 million tonnes of cargo through 
  its port and 16.2 million TEUs, making it the busiest container port in 
  the world for the sixth consecutive year.
  hong Kong is, and always has been, a free port. The trade policy of the 
  Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region seeks a free, 
  open and multilateral trading system. 
  Port facilities in Hong Kong include 5,794 metres of quays at Kwai Chung 
  and Stonecutters container terminals; 7,756 metres of quays at public 
  cargo working areas; and 59 mooring buoys for ocean-going vessels. 
  There are also two public passenger ferry terminals processing more than 
  16 million passenger trips a year to and from Mainland China and Macau.
  About 37,580 ocean-going vessels entered Hong Kong in 1999. Ship 
  turnaround performance is among the very best in Asia and port charges 
  are among the lowest in the world. Container ships at terminal berths 
  are routinely turned round in 10 hours or less, while conventional 
  vessels working cargo at buoys are in port for only 1.8 days on average.

Imam Khomeini Port
 Imam Khomeini Port Complex - Iran Web site. Imam Khomeini Port
  Complex, is the northernmost port of the Persion Gulf and is located at
  the end of waterway of Khormosa. This natural waterway ensures that the 
  port provides a safe and calm harbour. The port advertises advanced 
  equipment and more than 28 million tons in capacity.
  Amongst the commerical ports in Iran, the Imam Komeini port handles 
  almost half of the non-oil cargo exchanges alone, and thus is considered
  to be the most significant and biggest commericial terminal in the 
  country.

Inchon Port
 Inchon Port Management Corporation - Korea Web site. Inchon Port will 
  take the leading role as a centre of international(global) trade and
  shipping and as gateway to the capital city of Seoul.
  The port's cargo handling facilities will be increased from 36,000,000 
  tons in 1993 to 69,000,000 tons in 2011 and further increased to

Ishikari Bay New Port
 Ishikari Bay New Port - Japan Web site. Ishikari Bay New Port is earning

  as dredged waterways that provide extremely calm conditions and an 
  efficient operating environment provided with the latest equipment, and 
  as international distribution facility and energy base, the Ishikari Bay 
  New Port's steady advances in equipment and services play a vital role in 
  supporting Hokkaido's next generation of growth.
  Facilities include:
  Higashi Wharf: A fully paved stockyard (10 ha) affords direct access to 
  the loading/unloading area, ensuring efficient operations. Lumber from 
  Russia, and recently most of the sand and gravel used for construction in 
  Sapporo, are handled at this wharf.
  Chuo Wharf:  can be claimed as the energy base of the Sapporo
  metropolitan area. Water depth of -7.5 m and a quay used exclusively by
  5,000-ton ships enable loading and unloading of hazardous materials,
  using the direct connection between ships and the quay. 
  Bannaguro Wharf: ships as large as 15,000 tons are able to come alongside 
  this pier. A container yard with lighting facilities for nighttime 
  operation is available to support the regular ocean liners serving the 
  port of Pusan. Two regular container services connect Ishikari Bay New 
  Port with Niigata, Toyama, Sakata, Himekawa and Rumoi. 
  Tarukawa Wharf: At this wharf, located on the west bank of Chuo Waterway,
  working facilities include two public warehouses and a truck scale. 
  Mainly foreign goods are handled, such as plywood from Indonesia and 
  marine products from northern seas. The large cold-storage facility

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust
 Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust - India Web site. Jawaharlal Nehru Port is 
  located within the Mumbai harbour on west coast of India. The port has two
  dedicated terminals. The Container Terminal with 680 meters quay length 
  (three berths) is designed and equipped to handle large size container 
  vessels. The Bulk Terminal having quay length of 712 meters (three berths) 
  is for import of dry bulk cargo from vessels of size upto 70,000 DWT. 
  In this terminal, two berths (500 meters total quay length) are 
  mechanized. One berth initially constructed as "Service Berth" has been 
  subsequently put to use for handling of Car Carriers, Liquid Bulk and to 
  a small extent for handling import/export of Dry Bulk using ships gears 
  and re designated as "Multipurpose Berth". 
  The Port is integrated into the national network of roads and railways. 
  The capacity of the port has been increased from 6 million tonnes to 13.5 
  million tonnes per annum (as on date) by providing additional container 
  handling equipment and opening the multipurpose berth for handling liquid 
  cargo. Currently the port can handle containerized cargo to the extent of 
  7.5 million tonnes, dry bulk 3.5 million tonnes and liquid bulk (and 
  miscellaneous commodities) 2.5 million tonnes. 
  The port has developed a new modern two berth container terminal through 
  private participation on Build, Operate and Transfer basis. This project 
  is implemented  with a capacity for handling about 7.5 million tonnes of 
  containerized cargo per annum. A dedicated berth for handling liquid cargo 
  is being constructed at a cost of about Rs. 200 crores through Bharat 
  Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Indian Oil Corporation  Ltd.,  public 
  sector oil companies, on Build, Operate and Transfer basis with a 
  capacity for handling about 5.5 to 6 million tonnes of liquid cargo per 
  annum. Port has also plans to develop an integrated Marine Chemical 
  Terminal for handling all types of chemicals including cryogenics, with 
  initial annual capacity of 15-16 million tonnes.
  A shallow water berth ,for handling Containerized and General cargo from 
  shallow draft vessels  is under construction , at a cost of about Rs.32 
  Crs.,  through  M/s  AFCONS .The  capacity for  handling shall be 1.20 
  Million Tonnes of cargo , per annum.

Johore Port
 Johore Port - Malaysia Web site. Johor Port, situated on the south coast
  of Malaysia - close to Singapore, began full operation in 1977 and in the
  last 19 years the port has undergone rapid growth and developmental 
  changes to fulfil the vision of a modern ans dynamic port. Over the years,
  resources measured in millions of tonnes have flowed through the terminals 
  to markets all over the world. In turn, a domestic appetite for imports 
  and the evolution of passenger travel have transformed Johor Port into a 
  major gateway of Malaysia.
  The facilities and capacities of Johor Port are:
  The Container Terminal: is capable of handling 600,000 TEUs of containers 
  annually at very competitive container handling charges. The container 
  yard covers 178,000 sq. metres with 5,500 ground slots capable of stocking
  25,000 TEUs at one time. 
  The Liquid Bulk Terminal: is the world's largest centre for the export of 
  palm oil. The Vegetable Oil Facility is capable of accommodating any kind 
  of tanker and has a maximum loading capacity of 1,000 tonnes per hour. The 
  Petroleum and Chemical Facility is equipped with sophisticated safety 
  features to handle hazardous cargo. 
  The Dry Bulk Terminal: comprises three specialised berths with a total 
  length of 624.5 metres and has 12.8 metres of water depth with the 
  capacity to receive up to three vessels simultaneously of up to 60,000 dwt. 
  The Break Bulk Terminal: has ample storage/holding space of 90,000 m2. of
  transit sheds, warehouses and open yards. With 1,000 metres of quay length 
  with depth alongside being 13 metres, All scrap iron, general cargo and 
  project cargo can be handled across these wharves. 
  The Multi-purpose Terminal: To serve current and future cargo demand, 
  Johor Port under its Fourth Phase Development Programme Multi-Purpose 
  Berths, which, cater for the specialised handling of bulk and general 
  cargo and also a proposed passenger ferry terminal. 
  Ferry Terminal: Johor Port also operates a ferry terminal for passengers
  embarking and disembarking from Batam, Tanjung Pinang and Surabaya.

Kaohsiung Port
 Kaohsiung Port - Taiwan Web site. Kaohsiung Harbor is the largest

Kandla Port
 Kandla Port Trust - India Web site. Kandla Port geographically situated 
  on the West coast of India, is strategically connected to Western, Central
  and Northen India and is today the #1 port amongst Indian ports by 
  handling in excess of 38 million tonnes of cargo per year whilst 
  maintaining the lowest cost per tonne of cargo handled.  
  In recent years Kandla has become the hub of foodgrains, fertilizers, 
  timber logs, hazardous cargo and oil imports.  The port is the most 
  economical and most convenient for handling imports and exports of the 
  highly productive granary and industrial belt stretching across Jammu and
  Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, New Delhi and 
  Gujarat.  The efficiency and all requisite user facilities nevertheless 
  conform to international standards.
  Berthing facilities provided by the port trust are:
  Cargo berths: 10 in straight line to accomodate 9/10 ships
  Liquid cargo handling: 4 independant jetties are provided.
  Single Buoy Moorings (SBM): 2 SBM's are provided to accommodate 2 VLCCs   
  Stream: 5 discharge/loading moorings are provided.
  Virtual jetties: 2 independant VJs (M/s IOC, M/s HPCL) are provided.  
  A Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) has been also installed at Vadinar to handle 
  Large Crude Carriers for import of Crude Oil through submarine and shore 
  based pipelines. Crude is being imported for Baroda (Koyali), Mathura and

Karachi Port
 Karachi Port Trust - Pakistan Web site. Karachi Harbour is a diurnal port 
  with duration of tides ranging 5 1/2 - 6 hours.
  The Port can handle 75,000 Dwt tankers, modern container vessels, bulk 
  carriers and general cargo ships. The port has 28 dry cargo berths, in 
  addition to the three oil piers OP-I, OP-II & OP-III. 
  Berths No.4,5,6,7 & 8 at East Wharves have been reconstructed whilst 
  9 & 10 are under construction(see 'Development). The Berths have been 
  renumbered since 1st January,1999.

Keelung Harbour Bureau
 Keelung Harbour Bureau - Taiwan Web site. Keelung Harbor is located at 
  Lat.25°9'N. and Long.121°44'E. on the northeast tip of the island
  province of Taiwan. It faces to the sea in the north and is surrounded by 
  mountains on three other sides. It really is a seaport full of scenic

Kisarazu Port
 Kisarazu Port - Chiba, Japan Web site. The Port of Kisarazu, located in 
  the Keiyo Coastal Industrial zone on the eastern shore of Tokyo bay, has 
  a long history as a distribution and trading center. In order to boost 
  its role as an industrial port, land is being developed for industrial use 
  and port facilities are gradually being expanded by new wharves for 
  domestic and foreign trade. This has earned the Port of Kisarazu an 
  important role as the mainstay of economic and social life in southern 
  Chiba.
  The public wharves of the Port of Kisarazu are divided into the inner 
  harbor, Kisarazu South and Futtsu districts. The inner harbor has a 3.0m 
  deep and 754 m long lighter's wharf. Kisarazu South has a 4.0 m deep and 
  721m long lighter's wharf, a 4.5m deep and 240 m long wharf (4 berths), 
  a 5.5  deep and 360m long wharf (4 berths), a 7.5m deep and 260m long 
  wharf (2 berths), and a 12.0m deep and 240m long wharf (1 berth). The 
  Futtsu district has a 5.5m deep and 360m long wharf (4 berths), and a 
  7.5m deep and 260m long wharf (2 berths, including one that is 
  earthquake resistant).

Kitakyushu Port
 Kitakyushu Port and Harbor Bureau - Japan Web site. The Port of 
  Kitakyushu is located in the center of the area formed by Shanghai, 
  Qingdao, Dalian, Seoul and Tokyo. Domestically, Kitakyushu has long 
  played a great role as a link with Kyushu and Honshu. In addition, 
  transportation networks of rail, highway and long distance ferry lines 
  spreads directly from the city throughout the nation, allowing cargoes 
  to be distributed smoothly to their destinations.
  This tremendous advantage of the geographical location and the 
  well-prepared transportation connection have contributed to the 
  establishment of the Port of Kitakyushu as an Asian gateway.
  Container Facilities at the port include:
  Tachinoura Container Terminal: the largest container terminal in western 
  Japan, consists of the 12m deep terminal No.1 and the 10m deep terminal 
  No.2. Together it is equipped with 7 gantry cranes. Computerized 
  operation makes for accurate, prompt and efficient handling of containers.
  Kokura Container Terminal: In Hiagari (Kokura Area) is situated in the

  Tanoura Container Terminal: was constructed in 1971 as the first  
  container terminal in western Japan. Semi-container vessels to Southeast 
  Asia and South Pacific islands and domestic container vessels between 
  metropolitan areas, Hokkaido and Kitakyushu are making port calls to the 
  terminal. This area has become a container terminal and cement base where 
  cement and miscellaneous goods are carried to the port head area by a 
  railway. Moreover, it serves as the import base of the vegetables and

Kuantan Port
 Kuantan Port Aauthority - Malaysia Web site. Kuantan Port is located at 
  Tanjung Gelang (Latitude 3o58'N, Longitude 103o 26'E) some 25 kilometres 
  north of the fast growing municipality of Kuantan in the State of Pahang. 
  It is an all weather deep-sea port constructed by the Malaysian Government to
  provide port facilities to serve the eastern states of Peninsular Malaysia.
  Kuantan Port provides loading and unloading, storage as well as receiving and 
  delivering services for :- Break Bulk, Dry Bulk, Liquid Bulk and Dangerous 
  Cargo. berthing details as follows:
  Container/Ro-Ro berth: has a berth length of 200 meters, and caters for 
  vessels of up to draught 11.2 meters and 45,000 dwt.
  Multipurpose berth: has a berth length of 525 meters, and caters for vessels 
  of up to draught 11.2 meters and 45,000 dwt.
  Liquid Chemical Berth 1: has a berth length of 240 meters, and caters for 
  vessels of up to draught 11.4 meters and 53,000 dwt.
  Liquid Chemical Berth 2: has a berth length of  240 meters, and caters for 
  vessels of up to draught 11.4 meters and 53,000 dwt.
  Palm Oil Berth (Outer): has a berth length of  250 meters, and caters for

Laem Chabang Port
 Laem Chabang Port - Thailand Web site. Laem Chabang Port (LCP) is a 
  deep-sea commercial port under the management of The Port Authority of 
  Thailand (PAT), and is located at the Eastern shore of the upper Gulf of 
  Thailand, approximately 110 km South of Bangkok the Capital of Thailand and 
  15 km North of Pattaya the beach resort. LCP also is a new modernized 
  business port in Southeast Asia and becomes the most efficient gateway port 
  of Thailand.
  LCP provides a comprehensive range of services, including cargo handling,
  warehousing, cargo distribution under railway and highway networks system 
  leading to all parts of Thailand. Port services include pilotage and towage, 
  supply of fresh water, power supply, telecommunications, sewage treatment, 
  garbage collection and disposal.
  In addition to above services, ship repair and maintenance services provided 
  by floating dock yard with capacity approximately 140,000 DWT under the 
  management of private sector, are also available at the Northern part of the 
  Port.
  At present LCP operates 11 terminals to accommodate various type of vessels
  container ships, bulk carriers, pure car carriers and passenger liners etc. 
  Among of them, five are container terminals (B1 to B5) and the other three 
  are Coastal Terminal (A1), Bulk Terminal (A4) and General Cargo Terminal (A5) 
  and the rest are under design and construnction (A0, A2 and A3). More than 80 
  per cent of seaborne cargo handled by LCP are containerized.
